Mouth Making an Orifice is a performance and text adapted from Allison’s doctoral research of the same title, commissioned for Liquid Architecture and Disclaimer Journal for Worm (w)hole: Orifice Oriented OntologiesOrifice Oriented Ontologies (000), an experimental performance program featuring Archie Barry, V Barratt, Allison Gibbs and Sage Pbbbt, forms the expanded contexture from Frances Barrett’s exhibition Meatus at The Australian Centre of Contemporary Art (ACCA).

The collection of writing and works adapt and re-use those functions of the orifice as a site of biopolitical and pharmacological regulation, adding pleasure and risk to the pharmakon, to pervert that utility, finding new functions and fresh ways to use existing holes, stretched into a horizon of queer possibilities.
